Fair Day in Tubbercurry 1999 and Siamsa Sraide Swinford 1999
Fair Day in Tubbercurry on the 11th of August 1999.
Recorded from VHS tape. It was the same day as the solar eclipse and North West Radio's presenter and his team were broadcasting live from the streets while the sun disappeared.
Look out for:
The eclipse at 4 mins
'Tom' singing the ballad of The Boys from the County Mayo at 17.5 mins
The tin-can maker at 26 mins
Siamsa Sraide Swinford on the 4th of August 1999 starts at 46 mins and is worth viewing for the eclectic mix of melodies, group-acts, dance, and street performance.
Thanks for watching.

The memories! It's not that long ago but we seemed so much more innocent and happy.
